Kimono Photoshoot in Kamakura:
Authentic Kimono Experience.

This private kimono photoshoot in Kamakura was created for Yuriko at the beginning of the autumn maple season.
Designed for women seeking a refined and authentic experience, each session combines traditional kimono dressing, personalized styling, and a cinematic outdoor photoshoot.
The Kimono Coordinate
For this session, I selected a pure silk emerald-blue tsukesage kimono featuring hand-painted autumn botanicals and floral vessel motifs.
This kimono carries personal history, as it was gifted to me by a family friend.

The obi is a formal pale pink, gold, and bronze fukuro-obi with intricate komashishuu embroidery, including:
- Asanoha geometric pattern
- Floral motifs
- Bird design
- Phoenix detail with opal accent
This obi belonged to my mother-in-law and remains one of the most treasured pieces in my collection.

The styling was completed with:
- Green and light brown obiage reflecting early autumn foliage
- Gold sanbuhimo
- Jade-toned obidome harmonizing with the kimono
- Gold netsuke
- Embroidered zori from Iwasa (est. 1928)

Each element is selected according to the client’s skin tone, posture, and presence.
No pre-coordinated sets.
No synthetic fabrics.
Only authentic silk kimono.

The Experience
Yuriko was already familiar with wearing kimono.
This time, everything was built around her.
The dressing refined her posture naturally.
Her movements became calmer and more intentional.
During the photoshoot, this translated into a grounded and composed presence.
Not just wearing kimono, but being in it.
